Moving to Spain
Move Spain prepares the paperwork for people moving to Spain: NIE application preparation and padrón / empadronamiento preparation for supported municipalities. You complete the official steps that require you.
How it works

- 3.Complete your registration and provide the required identity information.
- 4.Move Spain prepares and coordinates the official process. You attend in person where required.
The main administrative steps
- 1. Get your NIE. The foreigner identification number comes first, because contracts, bank accounts and property purchases all ask for it. How the NIE works
- 2. Arrange an address. A rental contract, deed or a utility bill in your name is what the town hall accepts as proof of where you live.
- 3. Register on the padron. Municipal registration proves your address and is normally required for healthcare and school places. How the padron works
- 4. Residence registration. EU and EEA citizens staying longer than three months register as an EU citizen. This is a separate official procedure and is not part of our packages.
- 5. Social security, healthcare and tax. These follow from your situation, for example employment or self-employment, and are handled by the relevant Spanish authority.
Move Spain is a private service, not a government body. The Spanish authorities decide, set the government fees and issue the documents.

Move Start is €59 (NIE), with a partner +€49 and a child under 18 +€29, up to a household maximum of €199. Move Essential is €119 (NIE + padrón), with a partner +€69 and a child under 18 +€39, up to a household maximum of €249. Government fees are separate.
