Padrón in Mallorca
Empadronamiento is handled by your own town hall, not by an island authority. Palma runs its own appointment calendar and document list, while smaller municipalities such as Calvià, Andratx, Pollença or Manacor publish their own. If you rent, several island town halls ask for the owner's ID or a signed authorisation on top of the contract.

Is the paperwork different in Palma than in the rest of Mallorca?+
The national NIE procedure is the same across the island. Empadronamiento, local taxes and waste charges are decided by your own town hall, so those genuinely differ between Palma, Calvià, Pollença and the smaller municipalities.
Do I need to be on the island to start?+
No. Everything we can prepare, forms, document checks and fee paperwork, is prepared before you arrive. The appointments that require your signature or your original documents happen in person in Mallorca.
Where do I register in Mallorca?+
At Ajuntament de Palma or your own island town hall. You register in the municipality where you actually live: Palma and the island municipalities.
What proof of address is accepted?+
Usually a rental contract, deed or recent utility bill in your name. Each town hall decides what it accepts, which is why we check your document before your appointment.
