Purchases are common and a NIE is mandatory before signing at the notary, which is why buyers usually start with the NIE months ahead.

Local branches are experienced with international clients and mortgage applications for non-residents.
Utilities
Water is supplied through the municipal concession, electricity and gas are open-market contracts transferred at handover.
Getting around
There is no rail link, so a car is normal here and the coastal road and bus network carry most traffic.
Moving with family
Each family member needs a NIE, and school admissions run partly on your registered address.
