Moving to Ibiza

Ibiza shares the Balearic administration with Mallorca, but appointments and town halls are local. Move prepares your application for the Eivissa offices.

Government offices in Ibiza

The offices that actually handle your procedures, taken from official government and municipal sources. Your NIE and your registration are separate procedures and can be handled in different places.

Living in Ibiza, the practical part

Seasonal workers who decide to stay, remote workers, and families moving from northern Europe to Santa Eulària and Sant Josep.

Empadronamiento on Ibiza

Island town halls apply strict checks on rental contracts because of seasonal and shared housing. A short-term or tourist contract is usually not accepted as proof of residence, and several town halls ask for the owner's authorisation.

Decided by Your ajuntament.

Local taxes

IVTM and IBI rates are set per municipality, and the five Ibiza town halls do not charge the same amounts.

Schools

Public education is in Catalan and Spanish, with a small number of international schools. Places in the popular municipalities fill quickly, and your registered address is part of the allocation.

Healthcare

IB-Salut runs the health centres, with Can Misses in Ibiza town as the island hospital.

Housing

Long-term rentals are genuinely scarce, prices peak in summer, and many advertised properties are licensed holiday lets that cannot be used as a registered address.

Banking

Branches are concentrated in Eivissa, Santa Eulària and Sant Antoni, and a NIE is required to open a resident account.

Utilities

Water is billed municipally and electricity is an open-market contract transferred into your name when you take over a home.

Getting around

Bus routes connect the main towns, but outside those a car or scooter is the practical option year round.

Moving with family

Each family member needs an individual NIE and padrón entry, and school admissions read from that address.

How it works

You never need to understand Spanish bureaucracy. You answer normal questions, we translate them into the right official steps.

  1. 1

    Tell us about yourself

A few plain questions, no Spanish paperwork terms.

  2. 2

    We determine what you need

We work out which procedures actually apply to your household.

  3. 3

    Upload your documents

One secure place, shared household documents only once.

  4. 4

    We prepare the official forms

We fill in the government forms with the details you gave us.

  5. 5

    We check everything

We review each document before it reaches an authority.

  6. 6

    You complete the official step

You attend the appointment, we tell you exactly what to bring.

  7. 7

    Track everything from your dashboard

Per person, per procedure, updated as things move.

Move Spain prepares and guides your applications. Official decisions, government submissions and identity checks are completed with the relevant authority.

Common questions

Why people trust us

We do not publish reviews we have not received. Until verified reviews are collected, here is what you can hold us to instead. (Ibiza)

Fixed price, shown before you pay

You see our fee, the government fee and any third party cost before you commit. No hourly billing, no surprises afterwards.

Avoid a rejected appointment

A missing signature or wrong document can mean a second appointment, weeks of delay, or another trip to Spain. A human checks everything before it reaches an official desk.

Updates in your own language

Status updates by email and WhatsApp in English, Dutch, German or Spanish, at every step of your application.

We say what we cannot do

We prepare, check and guide. We are not a law firm and we cannot attend an appointment in your place, and we tell you that up front.

Fixed pricing, no hidden fees
